Childhood
    Heather Truong was born in San Jose, California, and lived in Chino, California
    until she graduated from Chino High School in 1998. In high school, she played
    on the Girl's Varsity Tennis Team for 4 years, and served as Captain for 3
    consecutive years. She also joined the Varsity Swim Team for 2 years. In her
    Senior year, she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Chino High School Lariat
    student newspaper.

    Anteater
    Heather then completed her undergraduate studies at University of California -
    Irvine where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Law, and
    Society with a minor in Political Science in 2002. During her collegiate years,
    Heather became a member of the Alpha Phi International Fraternity and
    participated in the UCDC Washington, D.C. Summer Internship program, as
    well as served as the program coordinator. Heather received a Certificate of
    Excellence in Leadership from the Dean of Students. She was also a member of
    the Rho Lambda Panhellenic Honor Society. Not only did Heather excel in
    academics and participate in various extra-curricular activities, but she also held
    internships with the Honorable Tam Nomoto Schumann in the Orange County
    Superior Court, the Orange County Bar Foundation - Shortstop - Juvenile
    Crime Diversion Program, and the Police Foundation Institute of Integrity,
    Leadership, and Professionalism in Washington, D.C.

    Legal Eagle
    After graduating from UC - Irvine, Heather continued her education at Western
    State University - College of Law where she recently received her Juris Doctor
    degree with a Certificate of Specialization in Business Law in 2005. Heather's
    extra curricular activities in law school included heavy involvement in
    networking opportunities. As the Social Chair of the Student Bar Association,
    Heather put on such events as the campus-wide inter-organizational BBQ Cook-
    Off, Dodgers Game Day, Inaugural Barrister's Ball with a Silent Auction (which
    over 300 guests attended, and raised over $5,000 for Mothers Against Drunk
    Driving). At the suggestion and support of her professor-mentor, Heather
    founded WSU's Business Law Association in collaboration with the inception of
    the Business Law Center, and served on the Steering Committee for the Center.
    As the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Business Law Association,
    she was responsible for member recruitment and member development - such
    programs included Business Law Professionals Panel and networking events
    with the American Corporate Counsel Association, Orange County Bar
    Association, and American Bar Association. As the American Bar Association's
    Ninth Circuit Law Student Division - Lieutenant Governor of Journalism,
    Heather was involved in creating and distributing newsletters to all law students
    in the Ninth Circuit. As WSU's Student Ambassador she worked with the
    Admissions Office to promote WSU programs to potential students by sharing
    her experiences.

    The Real World...
    Heather's emphasis in Business and Corporate law, tied with her previous work
    experience with the Civic Center Barrio Housing Corporation where she worked
    with the California State Attorney General and California Coastal Commission,
    she obtained WSU's First Honors Corporations Internship at Lantronix, Inc., a
    publicly-traded computer networking company in Irvine, California. As she
    completed her studies at WSU, she made the prestigious Dean's List while
    managing to continue work at Lantronix part time during the school year. Upon
    receiving her J.D., she continued her services at Lantronix as the Associate
    Counsel.

    Big Law
    During the Summer of 2006, Heather took a leave of absence from Lantronix to
    accept a position to work with a senior partner of the litigation department at
    Paul, Hastings, Janofsky, & Walker on a lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary
    duty of a financial advisor for an investment worth $4 million. She got to work
    on trial preparation of exhibits, depositions, and transcripts, legal research, as
    well as assisting in writing the trial briefs. Heather got to work out of the San
    Diego, Orange County, and L.A. offices of Paul Hastings.

    ... and beyond ...
    As a new alumni member of the WSU Alumni Association, Heather served on
    the Planning Committee for the First WSU All Class Reunion which took place  
    September 2005. In September 2006, she was elected as the WSUAA Vice
    President, and appointed the chair of the Reunion Committee for the Second All-
    Class Reunion held on September 15, 2007 at Nixon Library. This fall, she was
    unanimously elected as the WSUAA Secretary for 2007-2008 and appointed as
    the Social Committee Chair. Heather continues devoting her time to the
    Chapman University Chapter of Alpha Phi as the Marketing Advisor.
    Additionally, Heather recently became the Assistant Director of Career Services
    at Western State University of Law where she continues her dedication to the
    school, providing counseling for students and alumni on career development.

    Event Planning:
    Following her passion in event planning, Heather still enjoys planning social,
    philanthropic, and networking events for various organizations in Orange
    County. Her clients include private individuals, non-profit organizations, and
    large corporations.
